The Sapience Story

Developing tools for work/life transformation meant finding our own balance first.

In 2009, four software developers and entrepreneurs noticed an unsettling trend: hours were disappearing. As they worked long nights, barely seeing friends and family, they found they weren’t alone in wondering where the time went. “Work/life balance” was a nice phrase, but a nearly unattainable goal. So, they made a change — not just for themselves, but for every customer as well.

Sapience was founded with a vision to transform people, processes, and productivity. With dashboards that deliver insights about how time is spent, people are able to budget time more effectively. Those hours don’t disappear anymore. Instead, they’re used wisely and well, so work/life balance and high productivity become everyday realities, not impossible goals.

Every change begins with measurement and a plan for every individual. Sapience insights make the journey of self-improvement enjoyable. However, to make it more rewarding and empowering one needs mentoring and guidance, that is exactly why we have built a platform called Art of Working. This is a one-stop site where you can learn from some of the best experts in the productivity and wellness space, gain from their expertise and achieve your goals.

In August 2017, Sapience relocated its headquarters to the U.S. With the addition of strong management and experienced board members, Sapience is rapidly expanding globally and becoming the leader in the enterprise people productivity space. Unlike other People Analytics solutions, Sapience is based on automated capture and inferencing of work trends rather than any external or subjective people data.
